Participation Manager, Sport Northern Ireland

As the Participation Manager with Sport Northern Ireland (SNI), John has a lead responsibility for increasing participation in sport and physical recreation especially among children & young people, under-represented groups and in areas of high social need. He has lead the development of partnership working between SNI and a number of Government departments (including Education, Health, Social Development) and other agencies (including NI's Community Relations Council and the NI Council for Ethnic Minorities). John is one of the lead authors of 'Sport Matters' - Northern Ireland's new Strategy for Sport and Physical Recreation 2008-2018 (DCAL, 2008). He has also written a number of training resources for Sport Northern Ireland to help improve community relations in and through sport in Northern Ireland.
